About Gwendolyn

Gwendolyn Noriega is an oil painter and illustrator working and residing based out of Houston, Texas. She is currently completing an Associate of Arts degree at Lone Star College, while have also completed courses and displayed works with The Glassell School of Art at MFA Houston.

Her practice in painting focuses on depicting everyday, intimate moments and the familiar. She concentrates on merging the use of classical techniques and modern imagery to convey one peering in to a moment in time. By the use of limited color palettes and a delicate painting technique, she imparts a sense of comfort and understanding. Her inspiration comes from her Cuban roots and the community built around her, while also taking inspiration from popular artists such as Edward Hopper and Diego Rivera.
